The Danubians

Upon his return from US to Serbia, in 2001, Radomir became a member of the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of Vojvodina (UPIDIV). His first photo show in Novi Sad was organized at the UPIDIV gallery, in 2003. The show, titled “Danubians,” featured large color prints of rowing boats taken at the river Danube which flows through his home town. His approach to portraying boats is more reminiscent of taking people’s portraits, than the journalistic approach of showing objects in their surroundings. Radomir’s photos are almost devoid of objects’ surroundings, for he is interested in their individual essence turning them into nearly abstract shapes and brightly colored geometric surfaces. The exhibit  also featured several prints of a wall calendar design proposal based on the same subject matter – the river boats.
